06/01/2022 – A man was arrested after threatening passengers with a knife on Line 4-Yellow of the São Paulo metro. According to the company responsible for the line, the criminal got into a wagon and started making threats. Security officers were called and managed to remove him from the train at Butantã station, West Zone. No one was hurt.

07/01/2023 – One criminal died and two fled after an attempted robbery of two military police officers on Rua do Glicério, in Liberdade, downtown São Paulo. According to the Military Police, the couple of officers were inside their car when they were approached by the criminals. The woman reacted and shot. The couple was not injured.
07/01/2023 – The Military Police arrested two people and released an app driver who was the victim of a kidnapping in the Itaim Paulista region, East Zone. Teams from the Metropolitan Military Police Battalion were on patrol in the region when they were approached by a woman who reported on the possible kidnapping of her colleague. According to the complainant, she realized that one of the drivers who was also on duty had been standing for a long time on the same street. After not having her calls answered by the man, she decided to go to where the cell phone’s location indicated. Upon arriving at the address, the woman did not find her colleague. Worried, she went to the nearest police unit. The agents began patrolling the area. The victim’s car was found and after a brief chase the criminals were arrested.
08/01/2023 – A 41-year-old military police officer was arrested for killing a 47-year-old man who was leaving a nightclub on Avenida Carlos Lacerda, in Vila Parajussara, South Zone. So far, there is no information about the motivation of the crime.
09/01/2023 – A man was freed after falling into the dating app scam and spending more than 12 hours in captivity in the Perus region, North Zone. According to the Military Police, the victim made an appointment on a dating app and drove to the agreed location on Sunday (08/01). There, he was surprised by the criminals and taken into custody on Rua Aristeu. They made bank transfers from the victim’s accounts, but one of the banks blocked the transactions until 16:00 on Monday. The criminals’ intention was to release him only after that time. The group used the victim’s cards in their machines and took photos and documents from him to try to make loans. Military Police teams were in the region and approached the trio, as one of them had a card machine, the officers decided to enter the house and found the victim on the top floor.
09/01/2023 – A man was arrested, and a teenager apprehended for stealing an app driver’s car and holding the passenger, a foreigner, hostage. The approach took place in Butantã, West Zone. According to information, an Indian man had just finished work at a restaurant when he requested an app ride. When the driver arrived, he asked him to wait a few minutes because a friend was also getting in the ride. At this time, the victim was approached by the criminals, who were armed and forced the Indian to get into the vehicle, expelling the driver. After the kidnapping began, the duo traveled through several streets in the region while threatening, assaulting, and demanding the victim’s bank account passwords to carry out transactions via Pix. At one point, they came across a Military Police vehicle that noticed the crime and ordered the vehicle to stop. There was a chase, but the police managed to arrest the criminals.
09/01/2023 – Two men were arrested during a kidnapping in Vila Gustavo, Tucuruvi region, North Zone. An 85-year-old man and his caregiver were approached as they arrived home on Willian Harding Street. The criminals announced the robbery and took the two along with the vehicle. They proceeded to drive the vehicle through several streets, while threatening the elderly man. According to the caregiver, the group reinforced the information that they had access to details of the life of the elderly man, who owns a company. During the crime, the gang demanded bank account passwords to carry out transactions. Sometime after the kidnapping began, upon noticing the presence of a Military Police vehicle, the woman jumped out of the moving vehicle and headed towards the police, who managed to reach the victims’ vehicle.
09/01/2023 – A man was arrested after threatening to kill people who participated in an act for democracy on Avenida Paulista, in the Bela Vista neighborhood, downtown São Paulo.The 45-year-old extremist used a firearm simulacrum to intimidate demonstrators. According to the Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo (SSP-SP), he was holding the gun and screaming that he was going to kill everyone.
10/01/2023 – A woman was robbed in front of a condominium in the neighborhood of Saúde, South Zone. Two criminals took the victim’s purse and car. The woman reported to the police, and they started a pursuit of the criminals and managed to arrest one of them. The other fled with the victim’s vehicle. 12/01/2023 – Two men who were part of a gang specialized in residential burglary were killed during a shooting with police officers from Rondas Ostensivas Tobias de Aguiar (Rota) on Rua da Consolação, in the Consolação neighborhood, in downtown São Paulo.
