The number of deaths by the Military Police on duty increased by 24.2% from January to July this year compared to the same period in 2022, according to data from the Public Ministry disclosed on Tuesday (01). On Wednesday (02/08), the Federal Revenue Service and the Civil Police of São Paulo carried out an operation against the activities of financial operators responsible for a millionaire scheme for sending illicit money abroad linked to drug trafficking and smuggling of imported products. Seven search and seizure warrants were carried out in the municipalities of São Paulo and Guarulhos. 26/07/2023 – Criminals stole copper wires and light fixtures from the Estaiada Bridge, in the South Zone of São Paulo, leaving the capital’s postcard in the dark since last Wednesday (26). According to the city hall, 70 light fixtures and 120 meters of copper cable were taken. There is no deadline for the lighting of the structure to be fully restored. 01/08/2023 – A 46-year-old woman was shot dead by her ex-partner, aged 56, on Tuesday morning (01/08), in front of a condominium on Rua Carlos Weber, in Vila Leopoldina, West Zone of São Paulo. A security camera recorded the crime. Later, he killed himself.
03/08/2023 – The flutist Jônatas Monteiro, from the Municipal Orchestras of Guarulhos, was found dead under a car, on Monday (03/08), at dawn, in the Bela Vista neighborhood, in the center of São Paulo. Footage from security cameras shows a car passing at high speed along Rua Conselheiro Ramalho and the 28-year-old being thrown under a vehicle that was parked there. The suspect was arrested accused of robbery followed by death.
06/08/2023 – Two armed men invaded a gas station early on Sunday (06/08), in Campo Limpo, in the South Zone of São Paulo. Security cameras recorded the moment they enter the convenience store and shoot the security guard there. According to the incident report, the victim was hit in the ear. He was taken to Campo Limpo Hospital, where he remains hospitalized.
