SANTOS SECURITY INCIDENTS – OCTOBER MONTHLY BULLETIN

05/10/2022 – A joint operation between the Federal Police and the Federal Revenue Service seized 683 kg of cocaine in the Port of Santos. The drug was hidden in a 21-ton cargo of cattle guts bound for the Port of Le Havre, France. According to the Federal Revenue, a team carried out the selection of the shipment for checking, through objective criteria of risk analysis and inspection by scanning images. During the procedures, a sniffer dog positively signaled the presence of drugs.

07/10/2022 – A young man was robbed by three criminals in front of his house, in Ponta da Praia, near channel 7. According to the victim, the criminals began to follow him on the bike path and surrounded him when he reached a place with less traffic. The trio took the boy’s cell phone.

09/10/2022 – One of the most traditional and respected restaurants in Santos, Almeida, was robbed. According to information from the Military Police, three individuals committed the crime. Also, according to the PM, the trio arrived at the establishment, located on Avenida Ana Costa, in the Vila Mathias neighborhood, already announcing the robbery. The trio fled shortly afterwards. At the time, the restaurant was not yet open for customers. The PM did not say what was stolen.

12/10/2022 – Two men were arrested for breaking into and stealing a commercial establishment on Avenida Conselheiro Nébias, in the Boqueirão neighborhood. Officers from the Municipal Guard (GCM) noticed the suspicious movement of the duo and carried out the arrest. GCM reported that officers were patrolling the area and saw the two men placing objects inside a cart, in front of a paint store. When they became aware of the presence of the vehicle, they fled on foot, but were stopped a few meters ahead.

17/10/2022 – Military police had a shooting with drug dealers in Morro Nova Cintra. The 2nd Battalion of Special Police Actions (Baep) operation, which had the support of the PMESP Águia helicopter, was aimed at curbing crime in the place, officers noticed the presence of armed men with backpacks as soon as they entered the Hill. In an attempt to escape, the individuals shot at the police teams. In total, a pistol, marijuana, hashish, four notebooks, a machine and a bank card, in addition to four cell phones, were seized.

23/10/2022 – A man pretended to be a customer to rob a supermarket on Avenida Bartolomeu de Gusmão, in the Aparecida neighborhood. As determined, he took all the cash from the cashier and cigarette packs. In the security camera footage, it is possible to see that the criminal was wearing a red shirt and a black cap. Just before the crime, he took an energy drink from the freezer and, pretending to be a customer, approached the cashier. When the attendant took the card machine, the robbery was announced.

25/10/2022 – The owner of a cell phone and electronics store shot at two robbers who were trying to rob his establishment on Rua Fernão Dias, in the Gonzaga neighborhood. The two criminals arrived at the establishment and passed themselves as of customers. In the images of the monitoring cameras, it is possible to see that the employee who is at the counter offers a product to the duo. At that moment, one of the robbers shows the weapon. Meanwhile, the other criminal takes two bags to store the items. He even puts a product in the bag, while giving orders to the employee. At that time, the owner of the store, who was following everything through the surveillance cameras on the mezzanine, shot in the direction of the criminals. Frightened, the two robbers fled without taking any product from the store.

27/10/2022 – A civil police officer was shot in Morro do São Bento during an operation. He was referred to the hospital, where he receives treatment. According to reports, the police officer acts as an investigator in the 1st Police District (DP) of the city. He was in an operation of the Special Operations Group (Goe) in the Vila Progresso neighborhood, when he was shot.
