01/07/2022 – A man was stopped by customers while trying to rob a bakery in Coronel Pedro Arbues, in Ponta da Praia. The police informed that the criminal had a fake gun.
02/07/2022 – The bodies of a 20-year-old man and another of a 22-year-old were found on Av. Francisco Manoel, in Jabaquara. Still bloodied, the bodies showed signs of stab wounds and were wrapped in sheets inside bags.

08/07/2022 – A restaurant in Gonzaga had its Instagram page cloned. The criminals then announced false promotions. The owners discovered the scam after a client came to restaurant saying she had earned a R$ 500.00 discount. The owners declared it was the second time this happened but that when it happened the first time, the fake page did not manage to have enough followers.
19/07/2022 – A civil guard found a 38-year-old man with stab wounds, lying on the ground in the morning, in Vila Nova, after a fight. The police did not manage to identify the criminal yet.
20/07/2022 – Fans caused turmoil at night, during and after the match between Botafogo and Santos, at Vila Belmiro. Videos records show the fans walking through the streets with what looked like iron bars, shouting and fighting in the middle of the streets. At some point, another large group of fans appeared on Av. Senador Pinheiro Machado, where some bombs were thrown on the road.
21/07/2022 – A man and a woman were chased by car by armed criminals in the Campo Grande neighborhood, in Santos. The criminals managed to approach the car when the traffic light turned red and shot one of the victims, on the corner of Francisco Glicérico Av., and Marquês de São Vicente. The victim was taken to the hospital. No criminal was arrested up to now.
22/07/2022 – The security guard at a bakery located in Antônio Rodrigues Guimarães St., in the Jardim Castelo neighborhood, in the Northwest Zone, was shot at close range in the morning. The criminal, who was looking for a gun, thought the victim was a police officer and wanted to take the one he supposedly had with him.
28/07/2022 – Police officers arrested, during a patrol in Praça Iguatemi Martins, in Paquéta, a criminal who stole a bicycle two days earlier.
TRENDS & ADVICE
- Be cautious when in the vicinity of Embaré, Ponto da Praia, Campo Grande, Rádio Clube, Downtown and Estuário.
- Be cautious at all times, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, mobile phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand over to muggers if attacked.
- In case of robbery: cooperate, do not try to run after the assailant as they might be armed or resort to violence.
- In case of kidnapping:
- Cooperate in order to mitigate the risk of violence, and do not lie or provide false information to your kidnappers.
- Bear in mind that the vast majority of kidnappings are financially motivated, and that negotiation may be lengthy.
