03/12/2022 – A couple was robbed on Ceará Street, in the Pompeia neighborhood. Images from security cameras show the action of criminals. The couple walks down the sidewalk with a pram and is approached by two individuals. One of them tries to take what appears to be a cap from the robbed man’s hand and forces him to hand over his wedding ring. The other approaches the woman, who is holding the pram. A third criminal is waiting for his accomplices on the street.
06/12/2022 – Two men, aged 35 and 41 respectively, were arrested by the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) after stealing tombstones from the Saboó cemetery. The duo was arrested as they left the scene. In total, four vases and 24 bronze crucifixes were recovered, in addition to pliers and a chisel, tools used in the crime.
07/12/2022 – The Federal Police (PF) arrested a man identified as a member of a criminal faction and head of drug trafficking in Monte Serrat. He is charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons. Named Operation Monte Serrat, the operation took place after a PF officer was shot at near an electrical transmission tower on the hill.
