30/10/2022 – Federal Police (PF), Military Police (PM) and Civil Police officers arrested 22 people in electoral zones during the second round of the election. The Military Police had to act in 32 occurrences that ended with people being arrested. While the PF made two arrests for contempt.

01/11/2022 – One man died and two people were injured during a shooting between police and criminals in the Manguinhos community, North Zone. According to the Civil Police, the dead man was a criminal. However, residents and family members claim that he was a resident of the region and taught martial arts. A resident was shot and taken to the hospital. Another man was hit in the operation and fled the scene.
01/11/2022 – Burglars used the scaffolding of a construction site to break into an apartment of a building in Copacabana, South Zone. Two men forced the electronic gate and used the scaffolding to gain access to the property, which was on the first floor. The first criminal took eight minutes to descend with the first wave of the residents’ belongings. Then another incursion into the apartment and, in 10 minutes, they come down with two more bags. At the time of the escape, the bandits used the shirt to cover their face. In all, they spent half an hour inside the apartment, where a couple and their two children were sleeping.
01/11/2022 – Security camera footage captured an attempted robbery on Bogari Street, in Lagoa, South Zone, which lasted just over 20 seconds. In the video, it is possible to notice that the criminal was wearing a mask. The bandits, who were in a popular car and followed a luxury vehicle. Then one of the criminals gets out and tackles the driver. One of the bandits tries to approach the driver of the car, who runs away. As the car was armored, the criminals were unable to complete the robbery.
02/11/2022 – The Civil Police started Operation Quimera, against the founder of Autibank Pagamentos, a company suspected of scams and financial pyramid. The Defraudation Department, responsible for the investigation, left to fulfill 12 search and seizure warrants in downtown Rio de Janeiro and Niterói. At least 30 victims, according to the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ), lost almost R$3 million between 2020 and 2021 with Autibank. The investigators estimate, however, that the number of victims is even higher: there are reports of losses in 12 other states and the Federal District, totaling R$100 million in losses.
02/11/2022 – Drivers of two cars were robbed by a criminal in broad daylight in Botafogo, South Zone. Images from Rua Jornalista Orlando Dantas show the moment when the criminal approaches, through the window, one of the drivers, while the other victim remains static and standing, in the middle of the street, with his hands in the air. Without taking the vehicles, the criminal gets on a motorcycle and flees.
03/11/2022 – The Federal Police, in joint action with the Specialized Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the Federal Public Ministry, launched Operation Tropeiros, which aims to dismantle a criminal association responsible for international drug trafficking through international flights to Europe. In this Thursday’s action, about 50 federal police officers serve three temporary arrest warrants and ten search and seizure warrants, in the homes of the targets, located in Rio de Janeiro, Niterói and Nova Friburgo.
03/11/2022 – A driver and his assistant were rescued by the Military Police after being kidnapped by criminals who wanted the yogurt load they were carrying. The victims were in Campinho, in the North Zone, and were released at one of the entrances to Complexo do Lins, also in the North Zone. According to the Military Police, the driver and the assistant were on Domingos Lopes Street, near a market, around 7:00, where they would leave the load of perishables, when armed bandits surrendered the duo.
03/11/2022 – Military Police arrested seven men involved in robberies on Ilha do Governador, North Zone. Security cameras recorded some of the crimes committed by the group. According to the PM, all the arrested are from the Nova Holanda favela, in Complexo da Maré, North Zone. In one of the cars where part of the group was, officers seized three weapons, a credit card machine, a notebook, three cell phones and a grenade.
