04/03/2023 – One man died, and another was injured when they were attacked by gunfire in Gardênia Azul, in Jacarepaguá, West Zone. In recent weeks, Gardênia Azul has been the target of a dispute over territory between traffickers from Cidade de Deus and militiamen from Gardenia. The incident is still ongoing.
04/03/2023 – A group of criminals tried to rob a jewelry store located in Shopping Nova América, in Del Castilho, North Zone. According to the Military Police (PM), there was shooting at the scene. There are no reports of injuries. There is still no confirmation if the criminals managed to complete the robbery. The PM reported that the bandits managed to steal a car on the run.
05/03/2023 – Flamengo and Vasco team fans clashed in the surroundings of Maracanã Stadium, North Zone, before the match between the two teams. In the confusion, one man died of gun shooting, and eight others were injured. The organized fans said the confrontations took place after a change of route made by the Military Police which would have caused them meeting.
06/03/2023 – A municipal guard was beaten with stones in the head in Copacabana, South Zone. In addition to it, three vehicles were also vandalized. According to the Secretariat of Public Order (SEOP), the intelligence sector had already identified that some street vendors planned to attack against the Municipal Guard and SEOP agents.
06/03/2023 – A military police officer prevented his family from being robbed at their door in the Tomás Coelho neighborhood, North Zone. He was at home when he realized that his wife, who is also a police officer, and son were being removed from the car by two gunmen. The officer reacted to the robbery and hit the two criminals who died at the scene. With them were seized two pistols and a radio transmitter.
08/03/2023 – Police arrested two criminals who were part of a gang that steals cell phone owners, mostly iPhones, after attracting victims by claiming interest in purchasing the device. So far, 20 people have sought the police station claiming to have been robbed by the criminals. Another six members have already been identified. They were arrested in Curicica, West Zone. According to the investigations, the gang takes advantage of cell phone advertisements on buying and selling sites to choose their targets. The criminals contacted the victims through messages and request that the device be delivered somewhere in Jacarepaguá. Arriving at the agreed address, the victims were approached by members of the gang.
09/03/2023 – Two people were shot at the exit of a nightclub on Rua Belford Roxo, in Copacabana, South Zone. A security camera caught the moment when an employee and a customer were talking when an armed man arrives, approaches, and starts shooting. There is no information about the reason for the attack.
10/02/2023 – Officers from the Pacifying Police Command (UPP) carried out an operation in Morro dos Cabritos and Ladeira dos Tabajaras, in Copacabana, South Zone. According to the Military Police, an armored vehicle and one of the UPP bases were shot at by criminals in the region. A child was shot at home.
