10/06/2023 – A woman died, and three others were injured after a man on a motorbike drove by shooting towards a bar. The case took place on Rua Jordão, in Taquara, West Zone. According to witnesses, the victims were on the sidewalk of the bar when the shooting began. The police are investigating whether one of those shot, who is linked to the militia, was the target. According to investigations, the shooter is connected to the drug trade in the region. After shooting the four people, the criminal still fired at random, and the shots hit the facade of a gym located near the bar.

11/06/2023 – An elderly woman was dragged to the ground after reacting to a robbery on Rua Buarque de Macedo, in Flamengo, South Zone. The episode was recorded by a camera in the victim’s building. The images show the criminal walking along the sidewalk until he leaves the frame. He notices when the elderly woman arrives at the entrance, runs, asking to hold the door, and attacks her. Seconds later, the criminal leaves, pulling the elderly woman’s purse, who resists and won’t let go of the handle. The bandit pushes harder, and the resident ends up falling to the ground. He flees with her belongings. The elderly woman was returning from the bank after withdrawing R$ 700.
12/06/2023 – An army soldier was arrested for participating in cargo thefts in the North Zone. According to the investigation, he worked with one or two accomplices. With Comando Vermelho’s support, which dominates communities in Praça Seca, he obtained armed support to carry out the shipment of the stolen material and storage.
12/06/2023 – Security Agents from the Present Ipanema recovered the golden chain of federal deputy Arthur Maia (União Brasil/BA), which had been stolen on Avenida Vieira Souto, in Ipanema, South Zone. 13/06/2023 – After three people died within a span of less than 24 hours in a dispute between drug dealers and militiamen, the city of Queimados, in Baixada Fluminense, had yet another intense shooting, this time in the Jardim da Fonte neighborhood. The Military Police reported that teams went to the Jardim da Fonte neighborhood after the battalion was notified about the shooting. Two of the three deaths occurred on Sunday. The bodies of two young men were found on Estrada Pastor Antônio Martins. Hours later, a man was killed in front of a bar on Rua Mondaime, in the São Roque neighborhood.
13/06/2023 – Civil Police carried out an operation in Senador Camará, West Zone, against charging for illegal services and restrictions imposed by drug trafficking in the region. Officers sought to execute 7 search and seizure warrants and one arrest warrant. In total, nine people were arrested, between warrants fulfilled and cough in the act. The police also seized 7 rifles, as well as ammunition, other weapons, and a mask. Police officers worked in the communities of Korea, Rebu and Vila Aliança, as well as a condominium. Investigations showed that the bandits began to impose liquidators who were trusted by the gang in buildings in the region and who acted as collectors of extortion fees imposed on residents to have access to electricity, piped water, cooking gas, and internet services.
13/06/2023 – A man was killed after a police officer reacted to a robbery on Linha Amarela, near Bonsucesso, North Zone. According to the police, two men on a motorcycle attempted to rob the officer. Even off duty, the officer was armed and reacted by shooting one of them. The other managed to escape.
14/06/2023 – Rio de Janeiro Civil Police and the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ) started Operation Casa de Papel, against a scam in the sale of real estate that imposed a loss of R$ 10 million to hundreds of victims. A man was arrested in an office in downtown Rio. The task force seized drugs, grenades, ammunition, telephones, and radio transmitters. Scammers advertised rented properties on the internet as if they were their own and disappeared after receiving the money. The negotiation and closing of the “purchase” were done in coworking spaces to try to convey the truthfulness of the deal.
14/06/2023 – A military police officer was killed during a chase and shooting with criminals in Complexo do Alemão, North Zone. According to the police, the chase happened when three men broke through a blitz on Rua Paranhos, in the North Zone. The men allegedly passed by shooting at the officers and the pursuit extended to Complexo do Alemão.
15/06/2023 – A resident from Morro do Turano, in Rio Comprido, North Zone, died after being shot. According to other residents, she was hit by shots from military police and there was no operation on site. They say that officers arrived shooting at the community and one of the shots hit the victim, who was drinking coffee on the sidewalk. An 8-month-old pregnant woman was also injured.
15/06/2023 – A former military police officer (PM) was shot dead on Rua César Lattes, in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone. The 38-year-old man was expelled from the PM for medical problems in 2018. He worked as an entrepreneur in the tobacco and beverage trade. The police are investigating whether the cigarette mafia operating in Rio is involved in the case. According to witnesses, men got out of a white car and fired several shots at the former police officer’s head.
16/06/2023 – Federal Police seized 176 guns and 528 magazines in a clandestine warehouse in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense. The action was an offshoot of the Desarmada operation, launched in February this year and which aims to seize illegal weapons to weaken criminal organizations. Among the weapons found in the warehouse are 99 pistols, 25 rifles, 21 revolvers, 12 rifles, 11 carbines and eight 12-gauge shotguns.
16/06/2023 – The Civil Police carried out an operation in Complexo do Chapadão, North Zone, to fight cargo and vehicles theft. In all, thirteen criminals were arrested, and 24 vehicles recovered. According to the police, the community has become one of the operational bases of a criminal faction that offers rifles, grenades and pistols for vehicles and cargo thefts, which takes place mainly in Baixada Fluminense, Barra da Tijuca, Recreio, neighborhoods in the North, South and West Zones and also in Niterói and São Gonçalo.
16/06/2023 – One person died, and two others were injured during a shooting on Avenida Santa Cruz, in Campo Grande, West Zone. The Military Police informed that men from the Campo Grande Battalion were called to the occurrence of four people hit by gunshots. According to the first information, armed men in a vehicle drove by shooting at the scene.
