02/11/2022 – A man and a 70-year-old woman died after being shot in Praça Seca, West Zone. According to witnesses, two men on a motorcycle drove by shooting, and the two victims were shot in the head.

04/12/2022 – Criminals on a motorcycle robbed the occupants of two different cars on Rua Visconde de Tocantins, in Méier, North Zone. A security camera recorded the robbers’ action. Two men were passing by on a motorcycle, while a couple walked towards their car. Before the couple had any chance to leave, the motorcycle returns and one of the criminals gets out pointing a gun at the passengers. He takes some objects from the couple and delivers them to the accomplice. Then, when they are already leaving, another car appears on the street and the robbers make the second attack.
05/12/2022 – Two men were arrested for vandalizing a bus stop in Copacabana, in the South Zone. Military police received a report that they were breaking into the cabin to steal metal parts. Images recorded by witnesses show the moment when one of them climbs on the roof of the cabin and uses a boulder to break some parts. A few seconds later, he starts to detach an iron bar and tries to reuse the stone to break more.
06/12/2022 – The Civil Police carried out an operation to arrest a gang that applied false loan scams to elderly people. The officers served 16 arrest warrants and 28 search and seizure warrants. The scammers would call the elderly informing that they had amounts to be received from the INSS. They said it was a kind of compensation. Among them, the contracting of previously abusive loans. Victims were convinced to go to the company’s headquarters where they were informed that they had to pass on all personal and bank data to them. This data was used to open a bank account. Scammers then took out loans on behalf of the victims and directed the amounts to accounts that they themselves controlled.
06/12/2022 – A 28-year-old delivery man was shot in the parking lot of the Shopping Nova América, in Del Castilho, North Zone. He was on his way to a delivery when he and a friend were attacked by criminals stealing around the mall. Even though the victim had delivered the motorcycle and belongings, he was shot in the neck by the criminals.
06/12/2022 – Three men were killed during a shooting with police in the Community of Teixeiras, in Taquara, West Zone. According to the PM, military police from the Jacarepaguá Battalion were attacked while on patrol in the forested area of the community.
06/12/2022 – Police officers from the Catete Police Station arrested a man for scam committed against models inside a five-star hotel in Copacabana, South Zone. According to the investigations, the 28-year-old man, who was staying at the place and presented himself as an investor, deceived and caused a loss of at least R$ 22,000 by subtracting credit cards and asking for bank transfers via PIX from two of the victims.
07/11/2022 – A 21-year-old barber was shot and killed in Praça Seca, West Zone. The police are still investigating the case.
08/12/2022 – Two Portuguese tourists were robbed when they arrived in Copacabana, South Zone. The two went to take a photo of a sculpture in the sand on the beach, when a criminal passed by on a bicycle and took the cell phone from one of them. The Military Police confirmed that a team from the Pacifying Police Unit (UPP) helped a citizen who presented himself as a tourist and reported having had his cell phone stolen.
09/12/2022 – There was a mass robbery at dawn, on the Linha Amarela, near Inhaúma, North Zone. Drivers said that the criminals crossed the lane on foot, near exit 5, on the access to Avenida Pastor Martin Luther King Júnior, and blocked the lane to steal their belongings. At least nine drivers were victims.
