29/12/2023 – 25yo Italian tourist has been stabbed during an assault in Glória, South RJ. Victim was accompanied with 2 female tourists and were walking on the beachside when a woman asked for information. Then, 3 men announced the assault, and one of them stabbed the tourist at the arm. The victim has been cured at the hospital and the police arrested one man and the woman. Two are still running.

30/12/2023 – Prisoners from the Penitenciary of Gericinó, West RJ, recipients of the Christmas Holiday, became fugitives as they did not return to their cells. Indeed, on December 24th, the traditional benefit for Christmas awarded 1785 prisoners who shown good behaviour, for them to spend time with their families util December 30th. Two of the 253 fugitives are leaders of local branches of the CV, one of the slum Santa Marta and the other from the Complexo do Chapadão.
30/12/2023 – PF agent has been carjacked while getting off his duty at the Galeão International Airport, Ilha do Governador, North RJ. 3 armed criminals in a high brand car assaulted the agent at the exit of the T2 parking in the middle of the morning. They took the high brand car of the officer and his belongings that he left in the car, including his distinctive and a laptop from the corporation. The case has been registered at the Airport precinct.
31/12/2023 – Three suspects of serial robberies in Maracanã, North RJ, flipped their car during a chase with the police. A police patrol went to check the information of the robberies and tried to control the suspects. Those refused to stop and began a shootout and a chase with the police, until their car rolled over. The officers called the ER as one of the suspects was wounded during the shootout. All were placed in custody.
31/12/2023 – Murder attempt fugitive has been arrested in Copacabana, South RJ, after being recognized by the new video monitored facial recognition. The man was running away since March 2023, and has been caught trying to access the New Year´s Eve event on the beach at one of the various police checkpoints. Besides the facial recognition video monitoring, the police could count on the support of the helicopters of the Aero Mobile Group, and on the individual cameras that were directly linked to the officer of the Operation Command Centre.
02/01/2024 – Tourist bus coming from Angra dos Reis has been carjacked and diverted with 20 passengers on board in front of the Novo Rio bus station, Centre RJ. Indeed, 3 criminals took advantage of a red signal to carjack the bus. They entered shooting and announced the diverting of the bus. While on their new route, the bandits took all the belongings of the passengers under death threatening. They stopped the bus in Penha, near the slum of Kelson, North RJ, 16kms away from the Novo Rio bus station. (Nota) It is worth remembering that the route between Angra and Rio is dangerous and not recommended at all at night; also, is the arrival at the Novo Rio bus station neighbourhood.
03/01/2024 – A 24h police operation, with conventional troops, special forces and K9 teams, took place in Cidade de Deus slum, West RJ. Police informed they invaded the slum to fight against organized crime in the region, to remove the barricades that impeach the forces to penetrate with their vehicles, and to seize weapons and drugs. In the first hours of the operation, the police removed 3 tons of barricades, seized 70kgs of drugs, and arrested 2 watchers with walkie-talkies. Inhabitants declared they have heard, during the dawn, the criminals dropped fireworks to communicate their comrades the arrival of the police.
03/01/2024 – Mother and sons have been arrested by the police and the PRF for a murder in Pavuna, North RJ. The victim, a water seller, had an issue with the suspects about a debt they had with him. After being shot by the woman and ran over by the daughter, the family put the victim in the trunk of their car and went to Tanguá, a city after Niteroi, to achieve their felony. On their way back to RJ, they were arrested on the Rio-Niteroi bridge. In his deposition, the son said where they left the body of the man. When the police went to check the local, they were advised a burned corpse has been removed by the local Forensics.
03/01/2024 – A man has been arrested by the police in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, West RJ, for child harassment. The man was a fugitive since 2019, when his wife caught him red-handed raping his 9yo adopted daughter. Intelligence department of the police mainly contributed to his apprehension. Investigations pointed the adopting process was in the finals and that he was harassing the child for 2 months before being flagged. When his wife caught him, he began a discussion with her and ran away. He has been placed in custody.
04/01/2024 – Police and lifeguards were called in Barra da Tijuca, West RJ, to search and investigate the suspect vanishment of a 6yo child. Indeed, as schools are closed for summer holidays, his father, a beach worker, brought the boy to his workplace, a drinks retail tent on the beachside near Post 4. In the middle of the afternoon, the father felt the absence of his boy. Immediately, the alert was given. Witnesses told the police they saw the boy playing football with 2 other children and an adult. They also said the police they did not seem Brazilian. Investigation is in progress and a global alert has been spread in the medias.
