The Secretary of State for Military Police will have new semi-armored vehicles in the corporation’s fleet. The new vehicles were characterized to work in the Maria da Penha Program – Guardians of Life, which assists women that are victims of crimes committed by their partners and those who have protective measures granted by the Justice.
In all, there will be 29 cars, of which 14 will be destined for the interior of the state and the Baixada Fluminense. The new vehicles have frontal, rear and side armor, which offer greater security to officers. On Tuesday (30/08), the first models of vehicles were presented.
In addition to these vehicles, the Military Police will also have a new model of semi-armored operational vehicle, which will be used gradually in ostensible policing. The corporation informed that the new cars have more space for officers and equipment and a greater engine power, which contributes to displacement on urban roads or on steeper slopes.
A total of 255 vehicles with the same characteristics that have already been acquired by the corporation and are in the process of characterization to integrate policing on the streets.
