03/10/2023 – Civil police teams arrested two criminals who were part of a gang specialized in robberies through the scam known as “Good Night, Cinderella” (spiked drink). Money, a cell phone, and a bank card belonging to a victim were seized. The criminals approached the victims at concert halls and nightclubs, where they were drugged and taken to a house in the Riviera Fluminense neighborhood. Then the criminals withdrew money from their bank accounts and made purchases with the stolen cards.

05/10/2023 – Civil Police officers arrested a 23-year-old criminal for drug trafficking. The police action occurred after intelligence work carried out in the Favela da Linha community, which is an area where the criminal faction known as ADA operates. During the operation, she was seen selling drugs.
08/10/2023 – During a patrol, Military Police carried out an approach that resulted in the arrest of two men. The criminals were found descending from a roof near the Linha community. During the operation, agents searched the area and discovered a large quantity of drugs.
12/10/2023 – One man was murdered in Barreto neighborhood, at 17:00. The victim, aged 49, was shot to death several times at the gate of his house.
12/10/2023 – A 22-year-old man was murdered on Rua Lindoia, in the Jardim Aeroporto neighborhood, at 23:00. He was shot to death He worked in a pharmacy making deliveries and was returning home, around 10:00, when he was hit.
15/10/2023 – Two men were arrested after a robbery in downtown Macaé. Present Security Program agents, after receiving the victim’s distress call, began a search. In a joint effort, they managed to locate one of the criminals, who was in possession of a necklace that belonged to the victim. At the police station, authorities carried out a thorough analysis of the victim’s card statement and identified several purchases made after the robbery. The agents followed the trail of purchases, which resulted in the location and arrest of the second criminal.
23/10/2023 – A man was arrested on Avenida Rui Barbosa, in downtown Macaé, after chasing and threatening a woman. He was approached and arrested by agents from the Present Security Program, in addition there were two outstanding arrest warrants and an extensive criminal record for various crimes.

- After dark, avoid Glória and the Centro (Downtown).
- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista and Cavaleiros.
- Avoid Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana and Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros), as risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas.
- As much as possible, restrict movement in the districts of Novo Horizonte (in Vale Encantado) and Parque Aeroporto. Do not walk alone in these areas and use only licensed taxis.
- Be careful when walking downtown, avoid exposing valuables.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
