The Disque Denúncia, a service contracted to the Municipality of Angra, released this week the balance of the cases that occurred in September. From the 1st to the 30th of last month, there were 65 complaints. The most reported issue was drug trafficking, with 19 calls, representing 29.23% of the total cases, followed by animal abuse, irregular construction and location of fugitives from justice, each with five cases. The locations that had the most complaints were Ilha Grande (8), Bracuí (7), Centro (5), Japuíba, Verolme, Parque Mambucaba and Monsuaba (the latter, with four calls each). In the period of one year (from October 2021 to September 2022), the Disque Denúncia registered 970 complaints, which gives an average of 81 occurrences per month. A third of this total were complaints about drug trafficking, and 11% about animal abuse.
07/10/2022 – A man was found dead with gunshot wounds in the Piraquara neighborhood. According to the Fire Department, the victim, approximately 50 years old, was near the Estrada do Laboratório. Police still don’t know what happened.
08/10/2022 – A 54-year-old man was shot dead in Morro da Caixa D’água. According to the Military Police, the victim was rescued by the Fire Department to the Japuíba Municipal Hospital but could not resist the injuries. Police said they did not know the circumstances of the crime. And added that there was no patrolling at the site at the time of the incident.
10/10/2022 – A shooting between military police and criminals ended with 2 kg of marijuana seized on Lincoln Corrêa da Silva Street, in Morro da Carioca. Reports of drug trafficking led the Military Police to the address. The police were met with gunfire and retaliated. After searching the place, he found 2 kg of marijuana, crack stones, cocaine and two communicators.
