Disque Denúncia, an anonymous crime reporting system connected to the Angra dos Reis city, released the balance of cases that occurred in June. From the 1st to the 30th of last month there were 69 crimes reported. The most reported subjects were drug trafficking, with 21 cases, representing 30,43% of the total cases, irregular constructions (10), animal abuse (9) and illegal deforestation (6). The neighborhoods that had the most reports were Parque Mambucaba (9), Areal (6), Nova Angra (5), Morro do Carmo (5) and Frade (5).
01/07/2022 – A shooting between suspected involvement in drug trafficking and military police ended with a man dead in the Areal neighborhood. According to Military Police, agents were routinely patrolling the BR-101, when they spotted a group of armed men. As they approached, criminals shot and the police retaliated. After the confrontation, agents found a man lying on the ground along with a pistol, 18 rounds of ammunition and a radio transmitter.
05/07/2022 – A man suspected of managing the drug trafficking in a locality known as Promorar was arrested in the Campo Belo neighborhood. Military police arrived at the address after reports that the suspect was hiding in his companion’s house. In the reports, the complainants also claimed that he would be “terrorizing local residents”.
