The Rio de Janeiro Municipal Guard Servants Union (Sisguario) reported that 51% of the guards did not go to the streets on Saturday (03/09) as a result of the strike that the category has been carrying out since 6h from Friday (02/09).
Strike During a Big Event
The stoppage takes place during one of the biggest festivals in the country, Rock in Rio. The Municipal Guard denies the absence of the personnel for patrols and says that all its operations, both routine and special for Rock in Rio, took place without problems.
Demands
The category claims readjustment of the meal/food ticket to R$ 650, salary readjustment of 26% – which corresponds to inflation in the period from 2019 to 2022 –, payment of uniforms and compliance with Law 13.022/2014, which provides for a career plan. The class claims that for 12 years no guard has been promoted.
