On Thursday (23/06), Rio de Janeiro State Department of Traffic and Licensing (Detran-RJ) servants started a strike, for better working conditions, creation of a career plan and the return of functional progression. Despite the stoppage, the Detran-RJ reports that services to the population were not affected. In addition to the outsourced employees, about 30% of the servants, in a state of strike, continue to work. Detran workers are responsible for the issuing of a series of important documents such as the driver’s license, car documents and even the national ID.
Motivation
Detran-RJ employees ask for the appreciation of their work. According to the president of the Detran-RJ Servers Union, Pablo Guimarães, they demand an improvement of their working conditions inside Detran units. Guimarães said that in some units, employees are forced to live with rats, cockroaches, mold on the walls and falling plaster, among other problems. The servers also demand a new plan of positions, careers and salaries.
