On Thursday (26), the Health Ministry released the vaccination plan against Covid-19 for 2023. In the first stage, which will begin on February 27, people will be vaccinated with a booster of Pfizer’s bivalent immunizer. The Ministry announced that groups more exposed to the risk of the disease and who were vaccinated with at least two doses of the monovalent vaccine will receive the bivalent.
This vaccine is an update on the first vaccines manufactured against Covid-19 and protects against the original strain of the coronavirus and the omicron subvariants.
In the first stage, the groups will be vaccinated in the following order:
- Phase 1: People aged 70 or over, residents of long-term care facilities (ILP), immunocompromised, indigenous, riverside and quilombola communities
- Phase 2: 60 to 69 years old
- Phase 3: Pregnant women and postpartum women
- Phase 4: Health professionals
