01/08/2023 – A military police officer was shot during the morning of Tuesday (01/08) in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, according to the Public Security Secretariat of the State of São Paulo (SSP-SP). According to the PM, the police was on duty in Campo Grande neighborhood when she was shot by armed criminals. The female PM corporal was hit in the back and taken to the hospital.

According to the PM, the police officer was shot during a shootout in Morro São Bento neighborhood. He was chasing an armed criminal who had attacked his colleague earlier. The soldier from the Police Special Actions Battalion (Baep) was injured in the groin. He was taken to the hospital.
A 25-year-old girl, who displayed posters and pamphlets stating that no one should support the LGBTQIA+ community in the Roberto Mário Santini Municipal Park, the Submarine Emissary, in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, was denounced by the Public Ministry/Parquet for practicing, inducing and inciting discrimination and prejudice based on race, color, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity. The prosecutor stressed that the young woman induced and incited discrimination and prejudice, saying that black people go to hell and those who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community will burn.
